Terms of Service
Last updated: July 21, 2026
By using lefling.com or signing up for a Le Fling membership, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Membership
Le Fling offers subscription-based access to fine jewelry. All subscription tiers (Casual Fling, Summer Fling, Steady Fling, Serious Fling) are billed monthly, starting at signup, with a 3-month minimum term, and renew automatically each month after that. You may cancel at any time from your account; if you cancel within the minimum term, cancellation takes effect at the close of the 3-month minimum, and otherwise at the end of the period you have already paid for (see Section 11). The One-Night Stand is a single 7-day rental with no recurring commitment.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the continental United States. A valid credit or debit card and a phone number are required at signup. We may require additional identity verification (including a government-issued photo ID) before your first shipment, for higher tiers, or where we reasonably suspect fraud. One account per person.
3. Billing
Your membership is billed monthly, starting at signup, and renews automatically each month on your billing date. The payment method you provided at signup is charged automatically until you cancel. By subscribing you authorize these recurring charges. Your bank may require card authentication (3-D Secure) at checkout or on a renewal. If a renewal payment fails, we retry it per our payment processor's schedule and notify you; while a payment is past due, new reservations and swaps are paused. If all retries fail, your membership is suspended and outstanding pieces must be returned within 7 days. Prices exclude any applicable taxes, which are shown at checkout.
4. The Jewelry
All pieces remain the property of Le Fling or its suppliers until you claim ownership with your ownership credit (see Section 9). Pieces are for personal wear only by the account holder. You may not loan, gift, resell, alter, resize, engrave, or take pieces outside the continental United States.
5. Swaps
Each tier includes 1 free swap per rolling 90-day period. Additional swaps cost $25 each. When you request a swap, we send a prepaid return label for the current piece, and your next piece ships once it checks in at our vault. The outgoing piece must be returned within 7 days. Pieces not returned within 21 days are treated as non-returns (see Section 8).
6. Care
Pieces must be stored in the provided case when not worn. Do not expose pieces to harsh chemicals, wear them during high-impact activities, or attempt any modifications. Normal wear and tear is expected and covered. A care guide is included with every shipment.
7. Damage
Everyday wear is covered, free, on every tier: a loose prong, a worn clasp, a stretched link, the normal life of a piece that gets worn. Because every piece is made by our manufacturing partner, we repair everyday wear at no charge. Damage beyond everyday wear (a lost or cracked stone, a broken clasp or setting, bent metalwork) is assessed by our gemologists; where we charge for it, we charge our actual repair cost, and your available ownership credit is applied against any such charge first. No charge under this Section, including for intentional damage, unauthorized alteration, or gross negligence, will exceed the piece's member buyout price (Section 9). This protection is an internal damage waiver provided by Le Fling, not an insurance policy, and requires no add-on purchase.
8. Non-Return, Loss, and Theft
One cap governs this entire Section: you can never be charged more for a piece than its member buyout price (Section 9) less your available ownership credit; the worst case is that you have simply bought the piece. If a piece is lost or stolen, notify us within 24 hours; for theft, file a police report within 48 hours. Your responsibility for a lost or stolen piece is that capped amount, never the retail price. If a piece is not returned within 21 days of a swap request, cancellation, or rental period end, we treat the non-return as a purchase and may charge the same capped amount. In each case, ownership of the piece transfers to you once the charge clears. Fraud is addressed in Section 12.
9. Ownership Credit
100% of every monthly subscription payment accumulates as ownership credit in your account. Credit belongs to you, not to any specific piece, and is never reduced by swapping. When your accumulated credit equals or exceeds the buyout price of a piece you hold, you may claim ownership at no additional cost. You may also buy out a piece at any time by paying the difference between its buyout price and your accumulated credit. The buyout price is the piece's listed retail price; members receive 20% off the buyout price of any piece with a retail price over $1,000. Buying out is always optional; you are never obligated to purchase anything. Upon buyout, ownership transfers to you, any available certification documents are included, and your remaining credit stays in your account. If you cancel, your unused credit stays on your account and is restored in full whenever you reactivate; it does not expire while your account remains open. If an account is permanently closed (at your request, for fraud, or where required by law), any remaining credit is handled as required by applicable stored-value and abandoned-property law. All buyout sales are final.
10. One-Night Stand Rentals and Deposits
Subscription memberships do not require a security deposit. Your monthly membership payment is a membership fee, not a deposit, and accrues in full as ownership credit.
The One-Night Stand is a separate, one-time seven-day rental with no membership required, available on eligible pieces from $1,000 retail and up. Pieces from $1,000 to $15,000 book self-serve; pieces above $15,000 are arranged by our concierge. The rental fee is approximately 10% of the piece's retail price for the seven days, rounded, with a $149 minimum; the exact fee is shown on the piece's page before booking.
Booking a One-Night Stand authorizes: (a) a hold on your card for the rental fee, captured only after identity verification succeeds; (b) identity verification through our processor, including a government ID and a matching selfie; and (c) a separate, refundable deposit hold placed before the piece ships, sized to the piece ($300, $500, or $1,000 for self-serve pieces, and set per piece for concierge pieces). The deposit hold is released when the piece is returned and checks in at our vault. You also authorize your card for loss, theft, or damage as described in these Terms and the Policy Center.
The seven-day window begins on your selected start date, and the piece must be returned by the end of that window using the prepaid, insured return label. A piece not returned within 21 days of the window end is treated as a purchase at the piece's member price, with your deposit applied toward it. If you buy the piece within 60 days of your rental, the rental fee applies as ownership credit toward the purchase.
You may cancel a One-Night Stand for a refund of the rental fee any time before the piece ships. Once a piece has shipped, the rental fee is non-refundable, though the deposit hold is still released on return. If identity verification does not pass, the piece does not ship and the rental fee is not charged. One-Night Stand pieces, like all Le Fling pieces, must remain in the continental United States.
11. Minimum Term and Cancellation
Membership carries a 3-month minimum term that begins on the day you join. You can request cancellation anytime, online, from your account; no phone call or letter is required. If you cancel within the minimum term, cancellation takes effect when the 3-month minimum ends, and your monthly membership fee continues until that date. If you cancel after the minimum term, cancellation takes effect at the end of the monthly period you have already paid for. You keep full membership benefits until your cancellation is effective. All pieces must be returned within 7 days of your cancellation effective date. Payments already made are not refunded, and 100% of them remains yours as ownership credit under Section 9.
12. If Le Fling Winds Down
If we ever discontinue the membership service, here is exactly what happens. We give you at least 30 days notice by email. During that notice window, every piece you hold is yours to buy at the member price, with 100% of your accumulated credit applied first, the same math as any other buyout. If you would rather not keep a piece, we send you a prepaid return label and you return it before the window closes. A piece that is neither bought out nor returned by the end of the window is handled under Section 8: we charge the capped member price and ownership transfers to you. After the window closes, memberships end and no further payments are charged. Credit that remains unused after the window expires to the extent permitted by law; where applicable law does not allow it to expire, we will convert it to jewelry store credit of equal value redeemable with our manufacturing partner (Section 20) or a successor.
13. Fraud
Fraudulent activity (false identity, stolen cards, selling or pawning rented pieces, returning counterfeits, filing false police reports, or opening multiple accounts) may result in immediate termination, charges for outstanding balances and losses, civil collection efforts, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Le Fling's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Dispute Resolution
Except where prohibited by law, disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in New York, NY. You and Le Fling agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as a class, collective, or representative action. Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court. If a court determines any part of this section is unenforceable, the remaining parts still apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where additional consent is required by law.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer protection laws in your state of residence require otherwise.
18. Consumer Rights Notice
You may have specific consumer rights under state law that cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit those rights.

20. Manufacturing Partner
All Le Fling jewelry is manufactured and fulfilled with Ultimate Diamond, a family-owned jeweler operating in New York's Diamond District since 1959. Every piece features real lab-grown diamonds set in solid 14k or 18k gold, or sterling silver, and is quality-checked by gemologists. Independent laboratory certification (IGI, GIA, or GCAL) is included with pieces that carry a lab report, as noted on each piece.
